1. Introduction
Welcome to Giiyo Tech. By accessing our website and using our services, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before enrolling in any of our programs.
2. Our Programs
Giiyo Tech is a nonprofit initiative of Giiyo Foundation providing STEM education programs for children aged 7-17 in Cameroon. Our programs include:
- Digital literacy and coding classes
- Holiday bootcamps
- Online safety workshops
- AI and emerging technology programs
- Homeschool programs
- Online learning courses
3. Enrollment and Participation
Enrollment Process: Parents or guardians complete the enrollment form and provide accurate contact information. For participants under 18, parental consent is required. A place is confirmed once enrollment is reviewed and, where needed, a sponsored or sliding-scale place is arranged.
Access: As a nonprofit, we keep our programs accessible through a need-based, sliding-scale model and offer fully sponsored places for families who cannot contribute. Any arrangements are discussed directly and privately with each family.
Cancellation Policy: Giiyo Tech reserves the right to cancel or reschedule programs due to insufficient enrollment, instructor availability, or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, full refunds will be provided or participants may transfer to another program.
4. Code of Conduct
All participants in our programs are expected to:
- Treat instructors, staff, and fellow students with respect
- Follow safety guidelines during all activities
- Use provided equipment responsibly
- Maintain appropriate behavior during online and in-person sessions
5. Intellectual Property
Students retain ownership of projects they create during our programs. Giiyo Tech reserves the right to showcase student work for promotional purposes with appropriate consent.
6. Liability
Limitation of Liability: Giiyo Tech and Giiyo Foundation shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from participation in our programs, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or loss of data.
Supervision:Our programs maintain appropriate instructor-to-student ratios based on age groups and activity types. While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure safety, parents and guardians remain responsible for their children's behavior and wellbeing during program activities.
Equipment Use: Participants are responsible for the proper care and use of equipment provided during programs. Parents or guardians may be held financially responsible for intentional damage to equipment caused by their children.
Insurance: Giiyo Tech maintains general liability insurance for program activities. However, this does not replace the need for participants to have appropriate personal insurance coverage.
